Background: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms with increasing incidence and unpredictable behavior. Whole-exome sequencing studies of metastatic PanNETs have found recurrent genomic alterations in DAXX and ATRX, which correlate with corresponding loss of protein expression.
